Fitzgerald really struggled in 2022 at Double-A Richmond but bounced back in a major way in 2023, slashing an impressive .292/.365/.511 with 22 home runs and 32 stolen bases between Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento. It earned him a late-season cup of coffee with the Giants and the 26-year-old popped two more homers and stole a couple more bases in 10 games. Fitzgerald struck out at a 29.4 percent rate with the big club after fanning at a 28.3 percent rate in the minors, so making contact could be an ongoing issue.
