Bennell (calf) was confirmed among the selections for Saturday's Round 2 game against the Carleton Blues, Callum Twomey of AFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bennell battled serious calf injuries over the past four years and appeared in only two games during his time with Fremantle. The 27-year-old appeared in 15 games with Gold Coast during the 2015 season and totaled 11 goals, 55 tackles, 55 marks, and 225 kicks. It's unclear if he will be limited in his first game back, but the fact that he's an interchange may suggest that's the case.
