Extends contract to 2025

Knee
May 27, 2021
Rayner (knee) signed a two-year contract extension with Brisbane that will keep him with the club through 2025.
ANALYSIS
Rayner hasn't played since signing his last contract extension in 2020 after tearing his ACL in preseason for the current campaign. Fortunately, the club was willing to offer him the chance to make up for lost time, so he'll work towards a healthy 2022 to show he's worth the money.

Returning Sunday
FBrisbane Lions
August 22, 2020
Rayner (hamstring) is listed in the squad's starting lineup ahead of their Round 13 match with the Saints on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Rayner has missed the last two rounds after picking up a hamstring injury back in Round 10 and was originally reported to have possibly been out for up to a month. Fortunately, that does not seem to be the case as he is set to make his return and provide an added spark on offense.

Hamstring
August 6, 2020
Rayner (hamstring) could miss as much as a month.
ANALYSIS
Rayner's run of consecutive games since his debut will officially come to an end in Round 11 following a hamstring injury that will keep him sidelined for a while. His absence will certainly be felt up front, as MIA will be Rayner's eight goals over the five games prior to his early exit Tuesday.
Suffers hamstring injury in loss
FBrisbane Lions
Hamstring
August 4, 2020
Rayner suffered a hamstring injury during the second half of Tuesday's 82-41 loss to Richmond.
ANALYSIS
Rayner isn't one to get his hands on the footy too often, but he's been a consistent presence with goals scored in his previous five matches and double-digit disposals in all but one of those games. He'll have to await tests to confirm his status, but these injuries usually require an absence of at least one week.
Scores twice in loss
FBrisbane Lions
July 9, 2020
Rayner scored two goals and collected 12 disposals (eight kicks, four handballs) in addition to making six marks and vie talkies during Thursday's 73-46 loss to Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Rayner has scored two goals in each of his last two starts after not making as much of an impact over the first three Rounds since the restart. His early scored helped get Lions out in front, but they couldn't handle the blitz from Geelong that followed. HIs four goals have now come against the top two teams in the ladder, and Rayner will look to keep it going against everyone in the coming weeks.
Selected in Round 2
FBrisbane Lions
June 11, 2020
Rayner (knee) is listed in the lineup for Round 2.
ANALYSIS
Rayner was spotted with a heavy bandage on his right knee during training Tuesday, so it's a welcomed sight that he will be in action Saturday. He will retain a spot among the half forwards in the contest.
