Set to take on Hooper
Borshchev will take on Chase Hooper in a UFC event on May 11th, with the city yet to be decided, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev is coming off a majority draw against Nazim Sadykhov in November last year, meaning he has won just once in their last four fights, with two draws in that span. "Slava Claus" owns a 7-3-1 mark in his career and will aim to get back to winning ways in an event that's being rumored to happen in San Diego.

Digs deep to earn draw
Borshchev and Nazim Sadykhov fought to a majority draw (29-28, 28-28, 28-28) at UFC 295 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
The draw is absolutely the correct call, but Borshchev deserves all sorts of credit for battling back and somehow not leaving Madison Square Garden with a loss. He was the far better man in Round 1 before getting rocked in a major way in Round 2. Borshchev's toughness combined with some poor fight IQ displayed by Sadykhov allowed the former to survive the frame and get right back on the offense in Round 3, earning the draw. Borshchev's secondary skills are lacking, but he's a high-end kickboxer who can hang with most any lightweight on the roster in a striking battle. He'll also walk away with an extra $50,000 here after this back-and-forth matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Will take on Sadykhov
Borshchev will fight Nazim Sadykhov at UFC 295 on Nov. 11, Marcel Dorff reports.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev defeated Hayisaer Maheshate via TKO in his last fight back in May in what was a much-needed win after two straight defeats. As for Sadykhov, the American is 2-0 in his UFC career and is coming off an impressive win over Terrance McKinney via submission.

Rebounds with strong effort
Borshchev defeated Hayisaer Maheshate via TKO (punches) at 2:37 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
In desperate need of a win on the heels of back-to-back unanimous decision defeats, Borshchev responded in a major way. He displayed true fight-altering power, dropping Maheshate on three separate occasions, including twice in Round 2. Borshchev has some consistency issues to work through, but he's getting high-level training every day at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, and the power is very clearly legitimate, as six of his seven career wins have come via knockout. Now it's just a matter of "Slava Claus" putting it all together on a consistent basis. This performance was a good start, and would also go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuse.

Draws Maheshate in May
Borshchev will take on Hayisaer Maheshate in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for May 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev looked like a world-beater on Contender Series and earned a POTN bonus for a first-round knockout in his UFC debut a few months later, but has since dropped back-to-back unanimous decision. Defending the takedown has been his main issue, as he surrendered a combined 20 takedowns in this two fights. Fortunately, Maheshate has yet to record a successful takedown with the UFC, and may grant Borshchev the striking battle he wishes.
