FantasyDraft NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

Here we are. The final day of the regular season. There are 10 games on the slate, and almost every team is on the second night of a back-to-back. Be on the lookout for players resting and consider the following players for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Anaheim Ducks, ANA vs. LOS ($16,900): The Ducks are a good choice, because both John Gibson (2.22 GAA, .924 save percentage) and Jonathan Bernier (2.48 GAA, .917 save percentage) have had impressive seasons. Meanwhile, the Kings have only scored 2.41 goals per game, and they are 16-19-5 on the road. The Ducks, on the other hand, are 28-8-4 at home.

CENTER

Mitch Marner, TOR vs. CLM ($12,100): The Blue Jackets have struggled mightily down the stretch. Sergei Bobrovsky has allowed 11 goals in his last three games, but he also likely won't be starting in this game. That would mean Joonas Korpisalo (2.95 GAA, .902 save percentage) in net. Marner has started 39.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, and he's tallied 21 points in 76 games with the extra man. With the way Columbus is playing, there is less reason for concern about the Jackets' 10th-ranked penalty kill.

Brayden Schenn, PHI vs. CAR ($11,400):
Schenn has averaged 11.87 fantasy points per game, which is actually more than even Claude Giroux. Like Marner, he's been a beast with the extra man. Schenn has averaged 3:50 per game on the power play, notching 28 points in that time. Since the All-Star break, the Hurricanes have the 19th-ranked penalty kill, and Carolina's goalies have a collective .900 save percentage on the season.

WING

Jaden Schwartz, STL vs. COL ($12,500): This is a nice way for Schwartz and the Blues to ease themselves into the playoffs. The Avalanche allow a staggering 3.38 goals per game, not to mention 31.6 shots on net per game. Schwartz, meanwhile, has been quite impressive recently. He's tallied 11 points (five goals, six assists) and 35 shots on net in his last 10 games. You won't find a more favorable matchup, and it seems highly unlikely Colorado is going to step up to the plate to end the season.

Jonathan Drouin, TAM vs. BUF ($10,700):
The Lightning were one of only two teams that didn't play Saturday, and they had to sit idly by and watch their playoff chances go up in smoke. Perhaps Tampa, and Drouin, can take some solace in trying to end the regular season on a high note. It's definitely a great matchup for that. The Sabres allow a league-high 34.2 shots on goal per game, and their penalty kill is ranked 26th. Drouin has started 38.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, the most of any Tampa Bay forward, and he's tallied 26 power-play points in 72 games. Additionally, Drouin has registered 177 shots on goal, and he has 10 points in his last 11 games.

Tomas Tatar, DET vs. NJD ($9,900):
The Red Wings are playing their final game at Joe Louis Arena, and things are shaping up well with the Devils in town. New Jersey has given up 3.15 goals and 31.5 shots on net per game. Tatar got off to a slow start, but since the beginning of March he has 10 goals and seven assists in 20 games. He also has six power-play points in that time, and the Devils have the 21st-ranked penalty kill.

DEFENSEMEN

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI vs. CAR ($10,200): Gostisbehere has started a whopping 44.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, which is a lot for any player, let alone a defenseman. He's also averaged 3:55 per game on the power play, scoring 23 points in that time. Recently, he's picked up seven points (and 23 shots on goal) in his last seven games. The Hurricanes have allowed 2.79 goals per game, and as noted previously since the All-Star break they have the 19th-ranked penalty kill.

Colton Parayko, STL vs. COL ($9,100):
Perhaps Parayko's game didn't take off after Kevin Shattenkirk was traded, but he has averaged a respectable 10.56 fantasy points per game. He's notched 186 shots on goal in 80 games, and he's also tallied 10 power-play points. Parayko has definitely been good enough to have faith in him in a matchup like this. As noted earlier, the Avalanche have allowed a league-high 3.37 goals per game, and their penalty kill is a woeful 29th in the NHL.
