Declares for 2024 NBA Draft
Shead (ankle) has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, according to Moriah Ballard and Chancellor Johnson of Click2Houston.com.
ANALYSIS
Shead will forgo an extra year of collegiate eligibility the NCAA gifted him as compensation for his freshman season being limited by COVID-19. Excluding that campaign, he was always an excellent option from which Houston's team benefited. Shead has averaged at least 10 points, five assists, three rebounds and one steal every season since his sophomore year. He logged career bests in each category during the Cougars' 2023-24 season. Shead averaged 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals across his 37 games started then. Having excelled while enrolled at Houston, he has at least some potential to be selected during the 2024 NBA Draft.
