Bulls outlast Wizards in Friday thriller
The Chicago Bulls survived the Washington Wizards, 129-127, at Capital One Arena on Friday night.

It was the home team Wizards (15-66) who got off to a strong start Friday, as they led by as much as 16 points in the first quarter. The Bulls (39-42) clawed the deficit to single digits and ended up winning the second frame, 32-22, to enter halftime up by three points. The teams exchanged buckets for much of the second half, with neither squad holding a large advantage over the other. Chicago was up by five with 37 seconds left, but Washington got the score within one point on a Corey Kispert three-point make. The Wizards had a chance to win the game, but Kispert missed a layup in the dying seconds as the Bulls came away with the win. Chicago improved to 19-21 on the road following Friday’s victory, while Washington dropped to 7-34 at home.

Javonte Green led the Bulls with 24 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Adama Sanoga led the bench with 22 points and a career-high 20 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Jevon Carter added 20 points, two rebounds and 12 assists in reserve for his first double-double of the year. Coby White added 20 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Dalen Terry totaled 17 points, four rebounds, eight assists and two blocks.

Devi Avdija registered his 18th double-double of the season with 23 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Kispert added 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Patrick Baldwin acquired his second double-double of the season with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Tristan Vukcevic compiled 19 points, while Johnny Davis tallied 15 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Both teams will wrap up their regular-season schedules Sunday. The Bulls head to New York to take on the Knicks, while the Wizards visit the Boston Celtics.
