DraftKings MLB: Friday Picks

DraftKings MLB: Friday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

Pitcher

Rich Hill, LAD vs. SF ($9,400): Hill has notched a 10.0 RAA with his fastball this season, while the Giants hold the second lowest RAA in the league against the pitch. It is also worth noting that San Francisco holds just a .295 wOBA against lefties, which rates as the third lowest mark in the league.

Kendall Graveman, OAK vs. TEX ($6,800): Graveman could represent a sneaky option for those who want to invest in a five-figure asset, as he has notched a 2.98 ERA in 54.1 innings at home while allowing just four homers over that span. The Rangers offense has melted on the road in 2017, where it has tallied a .300 wOBA to go along with a strikeout rate of more than 26 percent.

Catcher

Tyler Flowers, PHI at ATL ($3,200): Flowers has swung the bat well against same-handed pitchers this season, as evidenced by the .361 wOBA and 39.6 percent hard contact rate he has notched over 245 at-bats. Meanwhile, Ben Lively has surrendered a .467 slugging percentage to right-handed hitters while striking out just 17.6 percent of the batters he has faced over 40.1 frames. Flowers returned to the lineup Thursday after missing a week due to a hand injury, but there has been no indication that the ailment will linger for the rest of the year.

First Base

Logan Morrison, TB at BAL ($4,100):Ubaldo Jimenez threw a gem in his last outing against the Yankees, but has still allowed a .614 slugging percentage to lefties over 64 innings. Morrison has tallied a .292 ISO against right-handers over 366 at-bats in 2017 while registering a hard contact rate of 40.4 percent.

Second Base

Scooter Gennett, CIN vs. BOS ($3,700): Gennett's price has taken a nosedive since the beginning of September, but the 27-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, as he has logged a .220 ISO and a .396 wOBA over 59 at-bats this month. Rick Porcello has allowed a .516 slugging percentage and a 42.2 percent hard contact rate against left-handers in 92.1 innings.

Third Base

Jose Reyes, NYM vs. WAS ($3,800): Reyes is having his best month of the season in September, as he has notched a .273 ISO and a .419 wOBA over 66 at-bats. Edwin Jackson was able to string together some good starts after being acquired by the Nationals in June, but has allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts, and has allowed a .484 slugging percentage to lefties overall this season.

Shortstop

Chad Pinder, OAK vs. TEX ($3,800):Nick Martinez has allowed a .525 slugging percentage to righties this season. This bodes well for Pinder, who will enter the contest having tallied a .247 ISO and a 34.6 percent hard contact rate against same-handed hurlers over 194 at-bats.

Outfield

Dexter Fowler, STL at PIT ($5,100): Fowler has tallied a 21.0 RAA against the fastball this season while notching a .253 ISO against right-handers over 293 at-bats. Ivan Nova's fastball has registered a -5.5 RAA, and he has allowed a .505 slugging percentage against his opposite hand over 79.2 innings.

A.J. Pollock, ARI vs. MIA ($4,800): Pollock has shown tremendous power against lefties in 2017 (.269 ISO) while logging a 15.7 RAA against the fastball. Adam Conley has notched a -6.1 RAA with his heater and has walked 35 right-handed batters over 73.2 innings.

Eric Thames, MIL vs. CHC ($4,200): Thames has hammered right-handed pitching to the tune of a .296 ISO this season. This kind of power should come in handy against opposing starter John Lackey, who has surrendered 18 homers to left-handed hitters over 74 innings.
