FanDuel MLB: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

PITCHER:

Tyler Anderson, COL at SDP ($6,400): Anderson sports a .118 wOBA and .094 BAA over the 10 scoreless innings encompassing his last two starts, one of which came against this same Padres squad last Friday. Anderson netted 37 fantasy points in that outing, as well as 30 over just four innings against the Diamondbacks in his previous appearance. He's also shown plenty of upside this season despite some struggles, as he's eclipsed 40 fantasy points twice and 50 on one other occasion. The Padres also check in with a .295 wOBA, .212 team average and 24.7 percent strikeout rate versus southpaws at home in the last month.

CATCHER:

Yadier Molina, STL at CIN ($3,200): Molina owns a .342 wOBA since the All-Star break and a .429 wOBA and .393 ISO versus righties over his last 10 games, along with a 33.8 percent hard contact rate versus that handedness on the season. Meanwhile, Reds starter Homer Bailey has allowed a .456 wOBA, 33.3 percent line drive rate and 33.8 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters at home, and he's allowing a 37.3 percent hard contact rate over his last three starts.

FIRST BASE:

Ryan Zimmerman, WAS at ATL ($3,300): Zimmerman boasts a .395 wOBA over 65 September plate appearances, and a .371 wOBA, .242 ISO and 38.7 percent hard contact rate versus right-handed pitching on the season. Braves starter R.A. Dickey has allowed a .369 wOBA (including 10 homers) to right-handed hitters at SunTrust Park, as well as four homers to Zimmerman. Three of those round trippers have come in 2017, which has led Zimmerman to a .991 wOBA in a limited sample against the knuckleball this season.

SECOND BASE

Jonathan Schoop, BAL vs. TAM ($3,000): Rays starter Matt Andriese has been touched up by righties for a .392 wOBA (including 10 homers) and 39.4 percent hard contact rate, while Schoop owns a .345 wOBA (including 22 homers) versus righties, along with a 35.8 percent hard contact rate against them on the road. Schoop has also mashed Tampa pitching in general this season, compiling six extra-base hits (two doubles, four homers) and 11 RBI versus Rays arms over 48 plate appearances.

THIRD BASE:

Adrian Beltre, TEX at SEA ($3,100): Beltre's body of work against southpaws includes a .482 wOBA, .274 ISO, 21.1 percent HR/FB rate and 42.1 percent hard contact rate. Mariners starter James Paxton has largely been effective this season, but he took a beating at the hands of the Astros in his last start and has allowed a 32.3 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters on the season.

SHORTSTOP:

Paul DeJong, STL at CIN ($3,100): The struggles of Reds starter Homer Bailey against righty bats at home were detailed earlier, while DeJong has homers in back-to-back games, a .346 wOBA and 35.8 percent hard contact rate versus righties and a .297 ISO and 36.0 percent hard contact rate versus that handedness in the last 10 games. Bailey also allows a .410 wOBA when throwing his four-seam fastball, a pitch DeJong owns a .389 wOBA against this season.

OUTFIELD:

Corey Dickerson, TAM at BAL ($2,300): Dickerson's price has plummeted due to some recent struggles, but he still sports a .339 wOBA (including 22 homers) and a 33.8 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching on the road. Orioles starter Gabriel Ynoa has allowed a .368 wOBA to lefty bats that rises to .433 when facing them at Camden Yards, along with a 39.5 percent hard contact rate to them overall. Ynoa is also allowing a .495 wOBA when throwing his sinker, a pitch that Dickerson owns a .455 wOBA against.

Max Kepler, MIN at DET ($2,500): Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann has allowed a .384 wOBA (including 15 homers) to left-handed hitters, along with a 45.6 percent hard contact rate when facing them at home. Kepler boasts a .352 wOBA (including 17 of his 18 homers), .216 ISO and a 36.1 percent hard contact rate against righties, while Tigers relievers have a 5.26 ERA and have allowed a .379 wOBA to lefty bats at home in the last 21 days.

Jayson Werth, WAS at ATL ($2,500): The struggles of Braves starter R.A. Dickey against right-handed hitters at home were detailed earlier, while Werth has a .319 wOBA against right-handed pitching, along with eight of his nine homers on the season.
