PITCHER
Corey Kluber, CLE vs. TOR ($24,000): There are a couple good options at the top of this slate with Kluber and Clayton Kershaw, but I'm giving the edge to Kluber as he has the better matchup. Who would have thought that facing the Braves instead of the Blue Jays would be the more daunting prospect, but that's where we are. Kluber has been on a roll since mid-June, posting double-digit strikeouts in six of his past seven starts, and he now faces a Blue Jays team that has the sixth-lowest wOBA against righties this season.
Ty Blach, SF vs. SD ($13,200): You can certainly go with the top two options on the board, but that would get pretty expensive, so if you are looking for someone on the cheap then Blach could be your guy. Blach blew up four starts back when he allowed seven runs in just three innings, but he's bounced back nicely with three consecutive quality starts. His strikeout numbers have been less than desirable, but a matchup with the lowly Padres could solve that problem.
INFIELD
Scooter Gennett, CIN vs. MIA ($8,100):Tom Koehler surrendered three runs in five innings in his most recent start and it was the best effort we'd seen from him in quite a while. That gives you an idea of how bad Koehler has been this season and it's not about to get any easier Sunday. Gennett has parlayed the momentum of his four-homer game earlier this season into a complete season, and he's now a legitimate bat in the Reds lineup, coming in with a .430 wOBA against righties.
Joey Votto, CIN vs. MIA ($10,400): It obvious where I'm going with these first two picks, as the Reds are a great stack option. Votto, who has a .414 wOBA against righties this year, has been in a bit of a rut lately, but if he's to break out against anyone, it will be against a bad right-handed pitcher.
Jose Abreu, CHW at KC ($8,800):Travis Wood takes the hill for the Royals, and if this start is like his previous two, the White Sox are in for a fun day. Wood enters with a 6.81 ERA after allowing eight runs in his last 8.1 innings (two starts). Meanwhile, Abreu leads the White Sox with a .433 wOBA against lefties this season.
OUTFIELD
Giancarlo Stanton, MIA at CIN ($10,800): The Reds have a great matchup against Koehler, but the Marlins have a good one too against Sal Romano, who has a 7.50 ERA through three starts this season. Stanton has been on a tear lately, and he's handled righties all season, posting a .386 wOBA against them.
Marcell Ozuna, MIA at CIN ($9,600): The Marlins are in play for a stack against Romano, and Ozuna can be used with Stanton or instead of him if you want to save some salary. Ozuna, who has a .390 wOBA against righties this year, hasn't hit a home run in a while, but getting a look at a vulnerable right-hander should be just what he needs to get back on track.
Steven Souza Jr., TB vs TEX ($8,700): If you believe in short-term patterns, you might want to avoid the Rays, as Texas starter Tyson Ross has followed every poor start this season with a good one. However, all I see is his 7.22 ERA. Ross has posted a few quality starts this season, but when he's been off, he's been way off. I'm expecting the Rays to get to Ross, and specifically Souza thanks to his .390 wOBA against righties.
UTILITY
Miguel Sano, MN vs. DET ($9,000):Matt Boyd has somehow avoided the big blowups this season, but he's consistently allowed several runs in almost every start. Lately, he's been allowing hits in bunches, as evidenced by the 43 hits he's given up in his past 22 innings. Meanwhile, Sano is always the first name you look to in the Twins lineup, as he has a team-leading .432 wOBA against lefties this season.
Clint Frazier, NYY at SEA ($6,900):Yovani Gallardo is back in the rotation after a short stint as a reliever, and though he fared well during that time, he was terrible as a starter for most of the season. Gallardo surrendered just one run in 11.1 innings out of the pen and yet his ERA is still at 5.59. Frazier has really started to figure it out at the major league level and enters with a .362 wOBA against righties this season.
